I was born and raised in the Canadian Prairies. While I’ve lived most of my life in Saskatoon, I’ve worked and travelled abroad to diverse places such as Egypt, Iceland, New Zealand, Scotland, and Peru, and also love to travel the North American continent, with some of my favourite destinations being the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Coast where the Black Depths Universe is set.
I’ve worked in all sorts of jobs including babysitter, flyer delivery girl, burger flipper, telephone surveyor, pharmacy clerk, wireliner, production engineering, and environmental engineering (among others), but what I’ve always loved is writing. I wrote my first novel in high school, when I should have been listening to my teachers. While that book is buried in the pile of papers I keep in my basement “just in case”, a few of my books have seen the light of day. The first book I published was Tales of a Redheaded Sea-Witch.I wrote the first draft of Tales during a very busy NaNoWriMo in 2008. After working on the manuscript for a few years, and consulting with published writers, editors and agents, I decided to just put it out there. I did (and still do!) have a day job to get back to. When I’m not writing, I’m trying to protect our precious environment, something we are learning more and more about everyday. I hope you enjoy my website and my books, and remember to turn out the lights!
